Successful Test of Rudrastra
On June 11, 2025, the Indian Army successfully tested the Rudrastra Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL), at the Pokhran Firing Range in Rajasthan.
- ‘Rudrastra’ is a hybrid VTOL UAV drone, combining the features of both a helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft.
- It has a total operational range of 170 kilometers (including loitering over the target) and a flight endurance of approximately 90 minutes. Operating at medium altitude, it can deliver a wide-area impact using an airburst warhead.
