Pangong Tso Region

  • Recently, a joint expedition team consisting of instructors from India’s leading national mountaineering institutes successfully scaled Mount Merag-III (6,480 meters) and Mount Kangju Kangri (6,710 meters).
  • The Pangong Tso region is located in the Union Territory of Ladakh, India.
  • The Pangong Range is a sub-range of the Ladakh mountains, named after the famous Pangong Tso Lake.
  • The lake is situated at about 4,350 meters above sea level and is considered the world’s highest saltwater lake.
  • About one-third of this lake lies in India, while two-thirds lies in China.
