Bank in a Box & Security Operations Centre: Boosting UCBs

On 8th August 2026, Union Home Minister launched two important technology initiatives for India’s Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) – Bank in a Box and Security Operations Center (SOC) in Mumbai.

What is ‘Bank in a Box’?

  • Integrated Service: It is a technology service that integrates several important banking facilities on one common platform.
    • It is to enable Urban Co-operative Banks to use modern banking technology.
  • Common Platform: The platform provides core banking services, digital payments, cloud services and regulatory compliance assistance.
    • This enables UCBs to access several key technology-enabled services from one connected system.
