SEBI Introduces IT Resilience Index
On 24th August 2026, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced an Information Technology Resilience Index (ITRI) framework for Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) such as stock exchanges, depositories and clearing corporations.
What Is the SEBI IT Resilience Index (ITRI)?
- ITRI is a system-driven index designed to capture the functioning and resilience of IT systems of Market Infrastructure Institutions.
Key Features
- The ITRI will be calculated using nine standardised parameters, ensuring comparability across MIIs:
- Availability
- Security
- Integrity
- Governance
- Reliability and monitoring
- Business continuity
- Modularity and flexibility
- Scalability
- Other relevant factors
Weightage and Reporting
- Availability and security: 20% each.
