Cabinet Approves 19 Special Courts
- On 5th August 2026, the Bihar Cabinet, chaired by the Chief Minister, approved 17 proposals, including the establishment of 19 exclusive Special Courts under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for medical colleges and hospitals, and a Sports Science Centre in Rajgir.
- To support the functioning of these courts, the government sanctioned the creation of 171 non-gazetted posts in District and Additional Sessions Judge courts.
- The Cabinet granted administrative approval to appoint Patna Women's College as the transaction advisor for implementing the PPP model in 16 medical colleges and hospitals, including dental institutions.
