Inquiry into Village Relocation from Satkosia Tiger Reserve
- On 17th August 2026, the Odisha government constituted a high-level committee to examine village relocations from Satkosia Tiger Reserve.
- The committee will examine compliance with the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, Forest Rights Act, 2006, and NTCA guidelines.
- It will verify whether eligible beneficiaries were wrongly excluded or included during the relocation process.
- The committee will assess compensation and rehabilitation provided to affected families.
