Within a short span of time, the black fungus disease has become a serious public health menace in India. The number of persons catching the infection is constantly increasing at an alarming rate.
- Black fungus is a rare but serious fungal infection. It is also known as mucormycosis.
- Mucormycetes is the group of fungi that causes mucormycosis. They are present throughout the environment, particularly in soil and in association with decaying organic matter such as leaves, compost piles, and animal dung.
