Gross Environment Product
Uttarakhand became the first state in India to calculate its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) using Gross Environment Product (GEP) on World Environment Day (June 5, 2021). (GDP).
A monetary value will be attributed to four essential natural resources: air, water, forest, and soil. Uttarakhand's GEP will be determined by the quality and quantity of these natural resources.
About GEP
- It is the entire value of final ecosystem services provided to human well-being in a region on an annual basis, and it may be quantified in both biophysical and monetary terms.
