Expansion of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
On 10th June, 2024, the Prime Minister greenlit government assistance for constructing three crore rural and urban houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
House Construction Breakdown
- Two crore houses will be built under PMAY-Gramin.
- One crore houses will be constructed under PMAY-Urban.
- This decision aims to address the housing needs of eligible families across rural and urban areas.
PMAY-Gramin Enhancements
- Each beneficiary under PMAY-G will now receive increased financial assistance, rising from Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 1.8 lakh in plains and from Rs 1.3 lakh to Rs 2 lakh in hilly and difficult areas.
