Ladakh Achieves Full Functional Literacy
On 24th June, 2024, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh declared to achieve full functional literacy under the ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram, with a literacy rate of over 97%.
- This milestone reflects Ladakh’s dedication to empowering its citizens through foundational literacy, numeracy, and critical life skills for all.
About ULLAS (Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society)
- It was launched as per the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020.
- Time Period: For a period of five years, from 2022- 2027.
