Inclusive Education Access for Persons with Disabilities
On 18th June 2025, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed in New Delhi between the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to advance inclusive education for persons with disabilities.
- The MoU was signed highlighting strong inter-ministerial collaboration for disability-inclusive reforms in education.
- The primary aim of the agreement is to establish a coordinated framework that ensures inclusive education for persons with disabilities, in alignment with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
