Rationale

Data from the Ministry of Shipping suggests that 95 per cent of India’s trading by volume and 70 per cent by value is done via maritime transport.
In spite of significant exposure to Shipping, India is yet to develop as an international shipping hub.

To examine global practices in Ship financing and leasing and identify opportunities for the IFSC.
To examine the existing legal and regulatory framework and conduct a 360-degree review of all the applicable laws ....
