India’s First Cooperative Compressed Biogas Plant
On 5th October 2025, the Centre inaugurated India’s first cooperative multi-feed Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant at Maharshi Shankarrao Kolhe Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana in Kopargaon, Ahilyanagar district, Maharashtra.
- This milestone marks a significant step towards sustainable energy, circular economy practices, and self-reliance in the country’s sugar sector.
