Maha Rishi Sri Agathiyar
On 23rd December, 2021, the Ministry of Ayush observed fifth Siddha Day on the eve of Agathiyar’s birthday. Siddha Day falls during the Ayilyam star of Margazhi Month.
It was jointly organized by the Central Council for Research in Siddha, National Institute of Siddha and Directorate of Indian Medicine & Homeopathy, Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Theme: “Strength of Siddha Medicine for Communicable Diseases”
About Rishi Sri Agathiyar
- Sri Agasthiyar, also known as Agathiar, Agasthiar, Agastyar, Agasti, Agastiar, is a legendary Vedic Rishi (sage), recognized as one of Seven Great Sages (Saptarishis).
