Government Initiatives for Cyclone Preparedness
- National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project: India launched this initiative to implement both structural and non-structural measures aimed at reducing the impact of cyclones and similar hydro-meteorological disasters on vulnerable local communities.
- Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Project: The ICZM project focuses on enhancing coastal community livelihoods while conserving the coastal ecosystem. This plan includes identifying infrastructure needs and livelihood improvement strategies in coastal districts, with a specific emphasis on mangrove conservation.
