Solid Waste Management
India’s solid waste management strategy has shifted from a linear collect-and-dump model to a circular economy framework. The focus is now on "Lakshya Zero Dumpsite" and "Wealth from Waste", enforced by the statutory Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regime that makes polluters pay for the end-of-life disposal of packaging and electronics.

- Ragpickers (Safai Mitras): Formalized into the workforce, now often operating Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs).
- Aggregators: Tech-platforms connecting scrap dealers with recycling units.
- Cement Industry: Major consumer of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) to replace coal.
- Farmers: Beneficiaries of Fermented Organic Manure (FOM) from Gobardhan plants.
