Differently Abled Persons
Disabled in India: As per the Census 2011, out of the 121 crores population in India 2.68 crore persons were enumerated as ‘disabled’ which was 2.21% of the total population.
- Among the disabled population 56% were males and 44% were females.
Types of Disability: The Census 2011 revealed that, in India, 20% of the disabled persons are having disability in movement, 19% are with disability in seeing, 19 % are with disability in hearing and 8% has multiple disabilities.
Highest Disability (age group): The percentage of disabled is highest in the age group 10-19 years followed by age group 20-29 years for both ....
