India-European Union Relations
Trade: European Union is India’s second-largest trade partner after the USA and the second-largest recipient of its goods.
- India's bilateral trade with the EU increased by 43.5% in 2021–2022, reaching $116.36 billion.
India’s Exports and Imports: The largest sectors of India’s Exports to the EU are engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, gems and jewellery, other manufactured goods and chemicals.
- The three largest exporters to India in the EU were Germany (€ 12,516 million), France (€ 8,234 million) and Belgium (€ 6,151 million).
Foreign Investment: The EU's share in foreign investment inflows to India has more than doubled from 8% to 18% in the last decade.
