India’s Position in Global Start-Up Ecosystem: India become the 3rd largest start-up ecosystem in the world after the US and China in 2021.
Total Startups: There are more than 69000 startups registered in India. 44 Indian start-ups have achieved unicorn status in 2021 taking the overall tally of unicorns to 100 (reached in June 2022), most of which are in the services sector.
Women Entrepreneurs: Significantly, the number of women entrepreneurs stood at 14%, up from 10% and 11% in the previous two years.
