Water stress Ranking of India: As per Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas of WRI, India is at 13th amongst 17 extremely water stressed countries.

Annual Per Capita Availability: Annual Per Capita Availability of water is 1486 cubic meters in 2021 (a decline of 75% since independence i.e., 1947)

Decline of Groundwater: Groundwater level declined by 61% between 2007-2017.

Surface Water: 70% of surface water within Indian territories are unfit for consumption.
