India's Digital Payment Revolution
- JAM Trinity: The integration of Jan-Dhan Yojana (zero-balance bank accounts), Aadhaar (secure digital identity), and Mobile connectivity has laid the foundation for digital payments and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in India.
- UPI Expansion: Launched in 2016, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has become a platform for over 21.70 billion transactions (Rs. 28.33 lakh crore) by January 2026, connecting more than 691 banks.
