What it will Do? An Alternate Mechanism was constituted for the consolidation of public sector banks. The Mechanism will examine proposals received from banks for approval to formulate schemes for amalgamation. It may also direct banks to examine proposals for amalgamation. |
Remember This In August 2017, the Cabinet had given its in-principle approval for public sector banks to merge.
