NISAR Mission
Recently, NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar), an Earth-observation satellite, got a traditional send-off ceremony at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California, US.
- The satellite will be shipped to India and is expected to be launched in 2024 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh.
About NISAR
- NISAR has been jointly developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under a partnership agreement signed in 2014.
Applications
- NISAR will help researchers detect slow-moving variations of Earth’s land surface that can precede earthquakes, landslides, and volcanic eruptions. Data about such movements could help ....
