Hunger and food insecurity refer to insufficient access to an adequate and nutritious diet due to economic constraints or other barriers, leading to hunger, malnutrition, and related health issues.
Findings from National Family Health Survey-5
- About 18% of mothers with children aged 6-23 months reported zero-food intake within the past 24 hours, indicating severe food insecurity.
- For infants aged 6-11 months, this zero-food rate was 30%, decreasing to 13% for 12-17 months old and 8% for 18-23 months old.
