United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
The UNGA was established in 1945 as the main deliberative, policymaking, and representative organ of the UN.
- It comprises all 193 UN member states, each having one vote regardless of size or power.
- It meets annually in regular sessions at UN Headquarters in New York.
- UNGA elects non-permanent UNSC members, ECOSOC members, and judges of ICJ (along with UNSC).
- Its resolutions are generally non-binding, except on budgetary and administrative matters.
