Atlas of Climate Adaptation in Indian Agriculture
On 23rd January 2026, the Atlas of Climate Adaptation in Indian Agriculture was launched in New Delhi by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). This marked a major step in India’s climate-resilient agriculture strategy.
- The launch coincided with the 15-year review of the National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) programme.
What is NICRA?
- National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) is a flagship programme launched by ICAR in 2011.
- Objective: Enhance resilience of Indian agriculture to climate variability and climate change through research, technology demonstration, capacity building and institutional convergence.
