Aditya-L1 Mission
On 6th January, 2024, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved a major milestone by positioning the Aditya-L1 spacecraft in a halo orbit around the Lagrangian point (L1) after a 1.5-million km journey.
- Aditya-L1's periodic halo orbit, 1.5 million km from Earth, allows a 5-year mission lifetime with minimal fuel consumption and uninterrupted solar observation.
- Equipped with seven payloads, Aditya-L1 will study the Sun's photosphere, chromosphere, and corona, providing insights into solar activities and space weather dynamics.
