The investigation into the unfortunate train accident that took place in Odisha on 2nd June 2023 was conducted by the Commissioner of Railway Safety for the south-eastern circle.
- Rail Safety Commissioners form part of the Commission of Railway Safety (CRS), a governmental body responsible for railway safety nationwide.
- Originally named the Railway Inspectorate, it was rebranded as the Commission of Railway Safety on November 1st, 1961.
