Corporate Debt Market Development Fund
On 28th July, 2023, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs inaugurated the Corporate Debt Market Development Fund (CDMDF) in Mumbai.
- It is a backstop facility for specified debt funds during market dislocations.
- It will be in the form of an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), meant to instil confidence among the participants in the corporate bond market during times of stress.
- Main Purpose: To serve as a safety net for designated debt funds in times of debt market strain. To acquire investment-grade corporate debt securities during market crises.
