Dimethyl Ether (DME)-fueled Engine

Recently, researchers at IIT Kanpur developed a 100% DME-fuelled engine with a mechanical fuel injection system.

  • High Cetane Number: DME exhibits high ignitibility in compression ignition engines.
  • Physical State: At normal atmospheric conditions, DME is a colorless gas.
