GoI-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework
On 16th June, 2023, NITI Aayog, India’s policy think tank, and the United Nations signed the Government of India - United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (GoI-UNSDCF) for the period of 2023-2027.
- The GoI-UNSDCF aligns UN development efforts with India's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda for 2030.
- Built on four pillars - People, Prosperity, Planet, and Participation, it guides development priorities and outcomes.
- Focuses on six areas including health, education, economic growth, environment, empowerment, and resilience.
- Emphasizes localizing SDGs and promoting South-South cooperation, showcasing Indian development models.
- Developed through extensive stakeholder engagement, it adopts a whole-of-society, whole-of-government, and whole-of-UN approach.
