RBI’s UDGAM Portal
On 17th August, 2023, the Reserve Bank of India launched a centralised web portal-UDGAM (Unclaimed Deposits – Gateway to Access inforMation).
- The portal development is a joint effort by ReBIT, IFTAS, and participating banks. Initially, users can access unclaimed deposit details from seven banks, including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, and others.
- Individuals can claim their deposits or reactivate dormant accounts through the portal.
- The portal enhances transparency by providing up-to-date information on unclaimed deposits, streamlining the resolution process and facilitating deposit claims.
