5th India-Maldives Defence Cooperation Dialogue

On September 6, 2024, India and the Maldives held their 5th Defence Cooperation Dialogue (DCD) in New Delhi.

  • The dialogue focused on strengthening bilateral defence ties and expediting ongoing projects and enhancing high-level military exchanges and exercises.
  • India reaffirmed its role as a Net Security Provider in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Maldives aims to re-establish India among its top-three tourist market.
