CITES CoP20
The 20th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP20) to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from November 24 to December 5, 2025.
- Marking the 50th anniversary of the Convention, CoP20 was the first CITES conference held in Central Asia, themed "CITES at 50 in Samarkand: Bridging Nature and People."
- CITES is a multilateral treaty that regulates international trade in over 40,900 species to ensure such trade does not threaten their survival.
