Digital Crop Survey (DCS) using Geo-Tagging & Remote Sensing
- In March 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare introduced the Digital Crop Survey (DCS) System, to gather real-time crop-sown details directly from the field through a mobile interface.
- DCS uses Geo-referencing, Remote Sensing, and AI for real-time and accurate crop sown area estimation.
- It replaces the traditional manual 'Girdawari' with a transparent, technology-driven and automated digital surveillance system.
- The survey is conducted using a mobile-based application requiring mandatory geo-tagging of every agricultural field.
- It ensures the integration of digitized cadastral maps with the current status of various standing crops.
