On 11th March 2026, ISA Foundation Day was celebrated in New Delhi.

  • The International Solar Alliance now has 125 member and signatory countries.
  • ISA was launched by India and France during COP21 in Paris in 2015.
  • The initiative promotes global cooperation in solar energy deployment.
  • ISA supports clean energy access in developing and emerging economies.
  • Solar projects include solarised health centres and irrigation systems.
  • The alliance also supports startups and innovation in renewable energy.
  • India’s installed solar capacity has reached about 136 gigawatts.
