‘Matri Van’ Initiative
On 2nd August 2025, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav, along with Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, presided over the ceremonial launch of the ‘Matri Van’ initiative.
- The initiative was launched under the Government of India’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ programme, which promotes tree plantation as a tribute to mothers and encourages public participation in environmental conservation.
- The event was organised by the Forest Department of Haryana during Van Mahotsav 2025 in Gurugram.
