Second-Largest E-Waste Recycler in India – Telangana
- Telangana has emerged as the second-largest e-waste recycler in India, after Uttar Pradesh as per data presented by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in the Lok Sabha in March, 2026.
Key Highlights
- Telangana recycled over 1.6 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of e-waste in 2025–26, accounting for nearly 16% of India’s total e-waste processing.
- The state recorded a ~400% increase in e-waste recycling from 42,000 MT (2021–22) to 1.6 lakh MT (2025–26).
- Despite a 15% decline at the national level, Telangana achieved a 35% growth from 1.19 lakh MT (2024–25) to 1.6 lakh MT (2025–26).
