National Statistical Commission (NSC) Bill, 2019

The draft bill aims at making some changes in National Statistical commission to make data collection more transparent and reliable.

National Statistical Organization

  • NSOwas established in 2005 on the recommendation of Rangarajan Commission. It was established via an executive order and works under Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
  • Composition: The Commission consists of a part-time Chairperson, four part-time Members, an ex-officio Member and a secretary.
