Tamil Nadu Government to Develop Chola Gangam Lake
On the birth anniversary of King Rajendra Chola I (Aadi Thiruvathirai, 23rd July), Tamil Nadu CM announced development works worth Rs. 12 crore for the Chola Gangam (Ponneri Lake).
- Chola Gangam (Ponneri Lake) was originally dug by Rajendra Chola I to commemorate his northern campaign, as noted in the Tiruvalangadu Copper Plates.
- The tank covers 700 acres and is located near the Sri Brahadeeswarar temple in Gangaikonda cholapuram, Ariyalur ....
