Blue Hydrogen and its Role in India’s Energy Transition

Blue hydrogen is produced from fossil fuels such as natural gas, where the resulting carbon dioxide (CO₂) is captured (using CCS – Carbon Capture & Storage) instead of being released into the atmosphere. This technology emits less CO₂ compared to traditional grey hydrogen (where CO₂ is released directly), but it is not entirely zero-emission like green hydrogen.
