Directed Energy Weapons
Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs) inflict damage by focusing electromagnetic or particle energy on the target.
- These weapons can range from non-lethal to lethal in effect.
Types of DEWs
High-Energy Laser
- Destroys or disables targets using a focused laser beam (infrared or visible spectrum).
- Features: Attacks at the speed of light, high precision, unlimited ammunition (as long as power is available).
High-Power Microwave (HPM)
- Uses microwave waves (300 MHz–300 GHz) to disrupt or destroy electronics.
- Features: Wide-area effect, weather-resistant, effective against drone swarms.
Millimeter Wave
- Waves between microwave and infrared (30–300 GHz), used for non-lethal crowd control or anti-drone applications.
