Nanorobotics for Pest Control
Nanorobotics is an emerging technology that uses robotic devices operating at the nanoscale (1 to 100 nanometers).
Use of Nanorobotics in Pest Control
- Targeted Pesticide Delivery: Nanorobots can be programmed to target specific pests and deliver minimal amounts of pesticides or biological control agents (such as bacteria or viruses) directly to the pests. This reduces indiscriminate spraying of chemical pesticides.
- Example: Nanorobots can deliver biological pesticides like Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus (NPV) specifically to affected pests, such as the green gram pod borer.
- Pest Monitoring and Identification: Nanorobots may be equipped with sensors that detect the presence of pests in soil, plants, or ....
