Swarm Robotics
Swarm Robotics is an advanced branch of robotics in which many small, simple, and interconnected robots collectively perform complex tasks. The concept is inspired by the collective behaviour of natural swarms (like ants, bees, and birds), where each unit—despite limited intelligence—can solve complex problems as a group.
Key Features
- Decentralized Control: Each robot operates independently but achieves goals collectively through mutual communication and collaboration.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: If one robot fails, the others can continue the task, making the system more resilient and reliable.
- Scalability: The number of robots can be increased or decreased as needed, enabling large-scale operations.
