Zorawar Light Tank

It is India’s indigenous light tank designed and developed for the Indian Army.

  • Developed jointly by DRDO’s Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

Key Features

Design and Weight

  • Weight: 25 tons, significantly lighter than the T-72 (50 tons) and T-90 (60 tons).
  • Transportability: Easily airlifted (C-17 Globemaster), rail, or road transportable.
  • Designed for operations in rivers and water bodies (e.g., Pangong Tso).
  • Mobility: Can climb slopes over 30°, features Composite Rubber Tracks (CRT) for high maneuverability.

Weapons

  • Main Gun: 105 mm Cockerill gun with 3105 turret (Belgian origin), equipped with autoloader.
