AIM4NatuRe Initiative
On 22nd April 2025, on the occasion of Earth Day, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) unveiled the Accelerating Innovative Monitoring for Nature Restoration (AIM4NatuRe) initiative, backed by GBP 7 million from the UK, aiming to enhance global ecosystem restoration efforts.
- AIM4NatuRe builds on the success of the AIM4Forests program, leveraging cutting-edge technology to support countries in monitoring and reporting restoration progress.
- The initiative aligns with Target 2 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), which seeks to restore 30% of degraded ecosystems by 2030.
