Guidelines for Co-location of Anganwadi Centres with Schools

On 3rd September 2025, the Ministry of Education & the Ministry of Women & Child Development jointly launched the Guidelines for Co-location of Anganwadi Centres with Schools at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

What are the new guidelines?

  • Prioritize AWCs: States and Union Territories (UTs) have been advised to prioritize AWCs without their own buildings, those operating from rented premises, or those lacking adequate facilities.
  • Special Attention to Marginalised: Special attention is to be given to centres serving children from marginalized communities, including economically weaker sections, tribal groups, and migrant families.
