Concessional Credit Schemes: Promoting Socio-Economic Empowerment of SCs
On 13th July 2026, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment released an Impact Evaluation Study (FY 2025–26) which highlighted the significant contribution of the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) in promoting entrepreneurship, self-employment, income generation and socio-economic empowerment among Scheduled Castes (SCs) communities through its concessional credit-based schemes.
What Did the Impact Evaluation Study Reveal?
Effective Utilisation of Credit
- 93.34% of beneficiaries used the financial assistance for the intended purpose.
- Indicates effective loan monitoring and implementation by NSFDC.
Sustainable Asset Creation
- 93.54% of beneficiaries continue to possess the assets created using NSFDC assistance.
