Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS)

In July 2026, the Union Government extended the Special Intervention under PM-NAPS for FY 2026–27 to expand apprenticeship opportunities across the North-Eastern Region.

  • PM-NAPS was launched in 2016 to promote apprenticeship training through financial support to establishments.
  • It has been extended for FY 2026–27 to strengthen apprenticeship opportunities in the North-Eastern Region under the Special Intervention for Promotion of Apprenticeship.
  • The scheme aims to develop skilled manpower through on-the-job training, encourage establishments to engage apprentices, provide up-skilling opportunities, and increase apprenticeship participation in MSMEs and underserved regions such as the North-East.
