SHG Kudumbashree Performed Chavittu Natakam
On 24th December, 2023, more than 500 women from Self Help Group Kudumbashree units across Kerala staged a Chavittu Natakam performance at Durbar Hall Grounds in Kochi to set a world record.
- The Chavittu Natakam performance told the story of the Kudumbashree Mission, which was set up in 1998 under the People’s Plan Campaign.
About Chavittu Natakam
- A colourful and vigorous theatre form, it is considered to be a folk art form noted for its attractive make-up of characters, their elaborate costumes, detailed gesture, and well-defined body movements.
